NSV Lubricated Plug valves Designed for Crude oil, Oil, Natural gas handling and transmission lines. Line sealing is achieved basically by metal to metal contact between body and plug with assistance of sealant injected in between body and plug, which serves both sealing and lubricating during operation.

Considered a high maintenance plug valve, they are often used in applications that have infrequent operations. Lubricated plug valves perform well in processes that utilize fluids which carry mildly abrasive particles such as dirty upstream applications, gas pipeline systems that need bypass valves, and as blow-down valves on valve stations and kicker valves.

STRUCTURAL FEATURES

1.Construction of Lubricated Plug Valves
As the name suggests, a lubricated valve uses a lubricant usually made up of a base oil and viscosity improver (like amorphous or fumed silica) that is injected under pressure between the plug face and body seat to reduce friction and seal ports.

2. Hard Surfaced Plug Valves
High Temperature and Abrasive services: For high temperature and abrasive services, NSV plug valve can be supplied with plug taper and body seat hard surfaced with nickel or cobalt base alloys. These materials provides a coating at elevated temperatures. With additional hard surfacing in high erosion areas, hard surfaced valve provides excellent resistance to abrasion in coal, limestone, iron core, copper ore and other water carried slurries. For severe services, hard surfacing extends valve life and improves valve performance significantly.
