The clamp valve is mainly used to control fluid medium containing particles, powder or fiber and corrosive medium. Commonly used in mining, chemical industry, wastewater treatment, food processing processing, pharmaceutical, ceramics and other industries. Because of their relatively simple flow path --the medium is mainly transmitted through rubber sleeve --these valves are not easily disturbed by solid particles when opened or closed. As a result, they are ideal for dealing with complex media that are difficult for traditional valves to reliably control.
1.Mining and mineral processing
In mining operations, it is often necessary to transport ore slurries, tailings, slurry and other mixtures containing mineral particles. The fluid is usually high solids content, and some particles can be abrasive, easily causing wear or blockage inside the valve.
Pinch valves closes flow by compressing the rubber sleeve. The lack of complex internal components, such as valve cores or seats, minimizes the accumulation of particles in the valve. Common applications include ore slurry transport pipelines, tailings discharge system, feed and discharge pipeline of mineral processing equipment, mud control system, etc.
When selecting valves, suppliers typically require information on slurry concentration, particle size, the abrasiveness of media and working pressure of the pipe to determine appropriate sleeve material and valve specifications.
2.Chemistry and Fine Chemical Industries
Chemical production usually involves acidic or alkaline solutions, chemical slurry, powder mixture and other corrosive media. Traditional metal valves valves are prone to corrosion, scaling and retention of residual media due to the different material requirements of different media.
The clamping valve can be used to transport chemical slurry, additives, powder mixing equipment piping and flow control of certain corrosive liquids.
It is important to note that the corrosion resistance of the pinch valve depends mainly on the material of the rubber sleeve. The suitability of a particular chemical medium cannot be determined solely on the basis of the material of the valve body; rather, the composition, concentration and temperature of the medium and the duration of exposure must be verified in advance. Wastewater Treatment and Environmental Protection Industry
Wastewater treatment plants treat domestic sewage, industrial wastewater, sludge and mixtures containing suspended solids. These media usually include impurities such as fibers, sediments and organic particles, which can easily interfere with the sealing and proper operation of traditional valves.
Clamp valves are commonly used in the following situations:
-Sludge transport and discharge pipelines;
Water supply and drainage control of sewage wastewater treatment systems;
Sludge sludge dewatering equipment-Piping;
-Sludge removal systems in sewage basins and sedimentation tanks;
-Pipeline for the transport of particulate liquids in environmentally friendly equipment.
For medium with high solids content and easy precipitation, wear resistance and pipeline pressure should be considered in the long term to prevent casing from being worn out excessively.
4.Food and Beverage Processing
In food production, certain raw materials-such as fruit purees, jam, starch slurries, syrup and various food ingredients-can be viscous, contain particles, or easily leave residue.
The clamping valve can be used for the transportation of food ingredients ingredients, dosage control of ingredients, slurry transfer and switching between pipelines connected to production equipment.
In a food processing environments, in addition to the valve opening and closing performance, it is important to ensure that the casing complies with food exposure regulations. cleaning methods, temperature ranges and sanitary design requirements must also be taken into account. For production lines requiring sanitary standards, specially designed and validated products must be selected; standard industrial pinch valves are not suitable for food exposure applications.
5. Pharmaceutical and bioengineering industries
Pharmaceutical and bioengineering production processes require high media purity, equipment stability and material compatibility. Some processes involve pharmaceutical liquids, suspensions, powder mixtures or raw materials for biological agents.
As long as the pinch valves meets specific process requirements, it can be used for the transport of certain materials, liquid distribution and pipe control between production equipment.
For pharmaceutical purposes, it is critical to verify that sleeve material meet requirements of cleanliness, chemical resistance and temperature compatibility, as well as compliance with cleaning, disinfection standards and relevant validation protocols. For processes involving aseptic or sterile requirements, priority should be given to specialized sanitary-grade or aseptic-grade solutions.
6. Ceramic, paper and Construction Materials Industries
Mud with a certain viscosity or containing solid particles is often transported in the production of ceramics, paper and building materials.
Examples include:
-Transport of ceramic bars and glazes in the ceramic industry;
-Transport of pulp and fibre suspensions in the paper industry;
-Treatment of cement, lime and mineral slurry in the construction industry;
-Transport of pigment diluents and filler mixtures in paint production.
These media may precipitate, wear or clog easily. Pinch valves-operated by compressing the inner casing through an external actuator-can effectively open and close the pipe, making it ideal for mud transport that requires frequent control.
7. How to Select the clamp valve suitable for your production environment?
Given the wide variety of media characteristics and production conditions in different industries, the selection of pinch valve requires consideration of more than pipe diameter; several other factors must also be assessed.
First, determine the type of medium. Determine whether the substance being transported is clean water, sludge, mineral slurry, powder or chemical slurry, and check for particles, fibres or corrosive ingredients.
Secondly, determine sleeve material. Common materials of casing include natural rubber, nitrile rubber, EPDM and other specialized elastomers. Since these materials have different abrasion resistance, oil resistance, acids/alkalis and temperature resistance, they should be selected according to the specific medium being treated.
Third, verify pressure and temperature requirements. Normal working pressure, maximum working pressure, moderate temperature and potential pressure fluctuations must be taken into account to ensure that bushing and valves can withstand working conditions.
Fourth, choose an appropriate actuation method. Manual, manual, pneumatic, or other suitable actuation methods may be selected according to the degree of automation and control requirements on site. For production lines that require remote control or frequent opening and closing, the response speed and control specification of the actuator should be carefully evaluated.
Fifth, consider maintenance and replacement costs. The rubber sleeve of the clamp valve is the main wear component. It is recommended to proactively understand its replacement cycle, availability of spare parts and complexity of maintenance in order to prevent production disruptions due to replacement downtime.
