What precautions should be taken when installing and maintaining a double-seal titanium plug valve?

Due to its corrosion resistance and high sealing performance, double seal titanium ball valve has been widely used in harsh conditions. However, installation and maintenance must be carried out in strict accordance with specifications to ensure performance and service life. Here are key points to look out for:

I. Installation Precautions.

Confirmation of Medium Flow Direction and Direction
Although bidirectional flow is supported, the direction of media flow must be determined in accordance with the design of the pipeline to avoid abnormal wear and tear of the sealing surface due to pressure fluctuations or impurity deposition.
Before installation, check the valve body markings to ensure that the intake and outlet directions comply with the system requirements.

Pipeline Cleaning and calibration
info-1-1      Before installation, the inner wall of the pipe should be cleaned thoroughly to remove impurities such as solder slag and rust and prevent impurities from getting stuck in the seal or stem gap.
Ensure the valve is aligned with the piping axis to avoid valve body deformation or sealing failure due to forced installation.

      Flange Connection and Bolt Tightening
Use matching flange gaskets (such as PTFE or metal-wrapped gaskets) to ensure sealing.
Bolts should be tightened symmetrically and gradually to avoid local stress concentration leading to valve body deformation or leakage.

      Environmental and Temperature Compatibility
Titanium materials become brittle at low temperatures. Avoid direct installation or operation at extremely low temperatures.
In the condition of high temperature, reserve space for thermal expansion to prevent the valve body from cracking due to thermal stress.

      Reservation of operating space
Ensure that there is sufficient space around the valve for manual operation or maintenance to avoid operating difficulties or damage to the valve body due to lack of space.

II. Maintenance Precautions

      Periodic Inspection and Leak Monitoring
Check the appearance and connectors of the valve regularly to ensure that there is no leakage, corrosion or deformation.
Test the seal using a professional detection tools (such as soapy water, pressure testers), especially at the interface of a double-sealed structure.

      Lubrication and anti-adhesion
special lubricating grease (such as food grade or corrosion resistant) is regularly applied to the stem rotation to reduce friction and prevent adhesion.
Avoid using lubricants containing particulates or corrosive substances to avoid damaging the the sealing surface.

      Seal replacement and cleaning
Replace seals (e.g. PTFE bushing, O-ring) according to frequency of use and corrosive nature of medium.
Non-metallic tools should be used to remove the seal to avoid scratching the valve body. Wash and dry thoroughly before reassembling.

      Media Compatibility Maintenance
If the medium contains solid particles or is prone to crystallization, the valve should be flushed regularly to prevent impurity deposition from affecting sealing performance.
For viscous media, close valve completely after operation and clean stem gap to avoid hardening residue.

      Operation Specifications and Pressure Control
Avoid frequent, quick opening and closing of valves to reduce impact wear on the sealing cover.
During use, the pressure should gradually increase to the working value. Do not use excessive pressure, so as not to damage the sealing structure.

      Long-term Shutdown protection
During long downtime, empty the valve of internal media and dry, to prevent corrosion or crystallization.
Apply rust oil to the valve body surface and cover with a protective sleeve to prevent dust or moisture from entering.

III. Special Working Conditions Maintenance Tips

High temperature conditions: Check the thermal expansion of the valve body regularly to ensure that the connection is not loose.
Low temperature: Preheat valve to ambient temperature before operation to avoid brittle fracture.
Strong corrosive medium: after repair, rinse the valve thoroughly with water or neutral solvent to prevent residual corrosive substances.

Sanitary environment: During maintenance, use a disinfection tool, clean and disinfect (e.g. steam disinfection).
